Yesterday was a great day to be a Finn; we were honored to celebrate the 97th independence day of our lovely country. While the blue and white flags waved the air, the Presidential Palace filled with the most important and succesful people of the year to shake hands with the president and to celebrate the freedom we achieved on the 6th of december 1917. And we, the ordinary people, were staring at those gorgeous dresses from tv and wishing that some day that red carpet could be under our feet.
Here are the most beautiful dresses from last night:
The color of Elina Kiikko's dress stood out from the crowd beautifully. It was perfect match with her dark brown hair and the golden belt detail. Loving the cut outs and the simplicity.
This gown was definitely my favorite even before the night had started. It's the much-talked dress, made of Nespresso coffee capsules, which everyone was waiting to see. Satu Taiveaho was honored to wear this gown designed by Outi Pyy. I just love trashion! (see more pics of it here!)
Shiho Tanaka looked absolutely stunning in her strapless gown. The simple bottom gives a perfect contrast to the golden details of the top. Loving the hair and make-up too!
This gorgeous gown of Sirpa Selänne was definitely one of the most loved ones of the evening. The color is just right for this Finnish beauty and the details are truly breathtaking.
Actress Anna-Maija Tuokko's cobalt blue dress caught my eye with it's detailed straps. The dress was perfect for her little baby belly that was revealed for the first time last night. Congratulations!
And yes, congratulations to you too, Finland! Proud to call you home.
